Cathy Anderson

Cathy Anderson is the Associate Principal cellist with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, and performs with other organizations including Drayton Entertainment and occasionally the Stratford Festival. She has been heard as a soloist and chamber musician on CBC Radio and National Public Radio in the United States. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Music performance degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Master of Music from Yale University. Cathy enjoys teaching the young musicians of the Kitchener-Waterloo Youth Orchestra and Chamber Music programs, and taught for many summers at the Kincardine Summer Music Festival. She was privileged to teach the cello studio at Wilfrid Laurier University for a semester while the professor was on sabbatical, and has taught cellists of all ages and levels since graduating university in 2001. She is excited to be teaching for the Renaissance School of the Arts and is looking forward to meeting aspiring cellists!
